We had two very successful spring concerts in April in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch. We enjoy learning and playing new pieces for our appreciative audiences. We premiered our piece that was written for our flute choir that featured music from different time periods in the Gulf Coast Area, called Twilight on the Gulf, by Paul Cuevas. A special treat was that the composer himself accompanied us on a double bass. The audience loved it.
We hope to have a recording of Twilight on the Gulf on YouTube for more people to enjoy soon.

Contrabass Update!
For several years we have been raising money to buy a contrabass flute that will belong to the Flute Choir. Thanks to the many supporters of the flute choir, the money has been raised and the contrabass flute has been ordered. It will be a few months before we receive it. We can't wait until we can play it for you in a concert.

Gulf Coast Flute Choir Christmas Concert 2019
The Gulf Coast Flute Choir is made up of several different types of flutes including C flutes, piccolos, alto flutes, and bass flutes. We are always looking to expand our flute choir with more flutes.
In February the Flute Choir was invited to play a concert at the Public Library in Ellenton for one of their Lunch and Learn series. We had a small group of players who put on a fun concert for the library patrons.
Twelve members of the flute choir performed in a concert in November for Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity in Sarasota. Our assistant director, Stacey Havill, directed.
